Myrtle Beach attracts nearly 15 million visitors each year, all possible targets of relocation. According to the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, most people who relocate or start a business first visited the area as tourists.
When looking to purchase a home in the area, open houses are often hard to locate, especially when prospective buyers are from out of town and unfamiliar with the area. To add to that challenge, Horry County passed a sign ordinance banning directional signs when conducting an open house.
To combat this problem, Coastal Carolinas Association of REALTORS® created the Open Door App, a mobile application for prospective homebuyers which identifies area open houses by synchronizing with the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). In addition, the app provides detailed directional information utilizing the GPS capability of the mobile device.
The app was developed to help REALTORS® by driving fresh prospects to their open house, allowing for information capture and realtor pairing.
The FREE app, available on both theApple and Android Marketplace, is the first Real Estate app of its kind.
