Myrtle Beach is No. 1 in 25 Best Places People Are Moving
By Ashley Daniels
Myrtle Beach is near and dear to our hearts, but now national stats have officially made Myrtle Beach the best place in the country that people are moving to in 2018.
According to U.S. News & World Report, which calculated the Best Places to Live based on each metro area’s growth and net migration data from 2012 to 2016 from the U.S. Census Bureau, major attractions for the top 25 cities were hot job markets and affordable housing, amidst other factors.
Myrtle Beach, which skyrocketed from a No. 74 ranking of Best Places to Live in 2017, topped popular neighboring cities, including Asheville, N.C. (No. 23); Jacksonville, Fla. (No. 21); Raleigh and Durham, N.C. (No. 14); Charlotte, N.C. (No. 13); Tampa, Fla. (No. 12); Charleston, S.C. (No. 8); Daytona Beach, Fla. (No. 7); and Orlando, Fla. (No. 5).
