CCAR CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING OF REVITALIZED KINGSTON PARK
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., September 17, 2019–Coastal Carolinas Association of REALTORS® (CCAR) and its Community Outreach committee celebrated the grand opening of Kingston Park in Conway, with a ribbon cutting by Conway Mayor Barbara Jo Blain-Bellamy Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m.
Thanks to a Placemaking Grant received from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR),the CCAR committee, along with the City of Conway and Conway Chamber of Commerce, was able to help revitalize this plot of land located at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Main Street in historic Conway that was once just an underutilized empty lot at a busy city intersection.
Now, Kingston Park boasts architectural, pedestrian-friendly elements, such as a knee wall, a decorative arch that mimics the arches at the Riverwalk, charming overhead string lights, new bistro tables, a newly revealed wall mural outside Rivertown Coffee Roasters and new landscaping.
“We wanted to partner with Conway to revitalize this land into a park that could become a gathering place for both residents and visitors,” says Laura Crowther, CEO of CCAR, “and that could truly reflect the natural beauty of historic Conway – especially at such a prominent downtown intersection.”
