CCAR JOINS WITH U.S. CENSUS BUREAU AS 2020 CENSUS PARTNER
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., January 2, 2020–
Coastal Carolinas Association of REALTORS® (CCAR) is excited to announce its partnership with the United States Census Bureau to support the 2020 Census. As a 2020 Census partner, CCAR will be working to make sure our community is accurately represented in the upcoming decennial count.
The census counts everyone in the United States and serves as the basis for determining congressional representation and distributing more than $675 billion in federal funds annually to support vital programs in states and communities across the country.
Equally important for real estate, is the fact that census data helps the federal government and the National Association of REALTORS® understand housing needs, demands, and trends.
The 2020 Census is scheduled to hit mailboxes in mid-March. This year, for the first time ever, the Census Bureau will also accept responses over the internet. The move online is expected to encourage more Americans to complete the census while also saving money for the government.
CCAR is a vested partner encouraging it’s 4,000 REALTOR® members to participate and help promote the 2020 Census. REALTOR® participation is vital in order to secure public services and funding for schools, hospitals, and fire departments while catalyzing infrastructure improvements that will support new homes and businesses.
