MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., July 14, 2020– Coastal Carolinas Association of REALTORS® (CCAR) is proud to announce its recent membership in the American Flood Coalition, which will strengthen the association’s continuous involvement with solutions for local coastal flooding threats.
“The American Flood Coalition is a worthwhile organization to be a part of, and allows us the ability to be a part of the discussion regarding local flooding solutions, while still being able to hold steadfast to the REALTOR® party platform,” says Adam Cates, CCAR President-Elect.
CCAR, along with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the Charleston Trident Area Association of REALTORS®, Representative Lee Hewitt, and Governor Henry McMaster, also supports the American Flood Coalition to be able to have access to a nationwide coalition that has a full-time focus on flooding.
The American Flood Coalition is a nonpartisan group of cities, elected officials, military leaders, businesses, and civic groups that have come together to drive adaptation to the reality of higher seas, stronger storms, and more frequent flooding through national solutions that support flood-affected communities and protect our nation’s residents, economy, and military installations.
“Overall, I think our membership shows our commitment to being proactive on the issue of flooding within our community,” says Cates. “It will also provide to us the resources to speak with other groups or municipalities experiencing similar issues so we can explore the best solutions.”
About CCAR: CCAR was founded in 1945, serving Horry, Georgetown and surrounding counties as the primary real estate resource for its 4,000 active members and fast-growing community. Our programs and services were established to be an advocate for community service, the public’s right to use and transfer real property, and overall membership cooperation. As the primary REALTOR membership association in the area, we also strongly believe in giving back to the community.
