Garden “City” is an unincorporated area of Myrtle Beach with a population of 15,000 residents. The Pier at Garden City formerly called Kingfisher Pier, was restored after Hurricane Hugo and is a popular beach destination amongst locals and tourists.
Murrells Inlet is a sister city of Garden city over the county divider line. It’s proclaimed the “Seafood Capital of South Carolina.” The ½ mile long boardwalk overlooking the salt marsh has numerous bars and restaurants open year round.
