Coastal Carolinas Multiple Listing Service (MLS) is excited to announce the launch of a new regional data exchange initiative, partnering with Greenville MLS and Lowcountry MLS to create greater opportunities for our subscribers across markets. This partnership, facilitated by SourceRE and Modern.Tech, will allow our MLS organizations to share listing data seamlessly within our MLS platforms, eliminating the need to log into a third party platform to see the data.

This regional data exchange is an innovative partnership between MLS organizations that allows for the exchange of data in real-time, across markets, making it easier than ever to serve clients and build your referral business.

Regional Data Exchange FAQs

Q: What is a regional data exchange?

A: A data exchange is an agreement between MLS organizations to share listing data across market boundaries. Data exchange agreements are typically initiated to create greater efficiencies for brokers and agents in nearby markets, often with the same state or region.

Q: How does a data exchange work?

A: Partnering MLSs make their data available to one another via a back end system. The result is all brokers and agents with memberships in the partnering MLSs can see each other’s live listing data, in real time.

Q: Will I have to do anything differently?

A: No. You’ll use the MLS as you always have. Soon, you’ll login as usual and be able to search any listings within the data share partnership; in this case Lowcountry MLS in Beaufort, Coastal Carolinas, and Greenville. Each of these participating MLS’s brokers and agents will have access to all listings within this network of MLSs, using their own local MLS platform (Paragon, Flex)

Q: Is there any additional cost to brokers and agents?

A: No, there is no additional cost.

Q: Will the regional data exchange include any other MLSs or just these three?

A: The regional data exchange is designed to support an unlimited number of MLS organizations. Coastal Carolinas, Greenville, and Lowcountry (Beaufort) are the founding MLSs, but others are expected to participate in the future.

Q: When will I be able to search listings within the regional data exchange?

A: Later this year.  As we finalize the work with the tech vendors, we will have a more concrete date.
